Questions, answered

Common questions

Short, direct answers from the studio.

What are facial add-ons?

Add-ons are 15-minute enhancements that your licensed esthetician works into a facial you have booked. Lumina offers three: High-Frequency for $25, Pore Vacuum & Oxygen Atomizer for $35 and Galvanic Current for $35. They are non-invasive, cosmetic and need no downtime. Add-ons are not stand-alone appointments.

Can I book an add-on on its own?

No. Add-ons are designed to enhance a facial rather than stand alone, so book any facial first and add the enhancement to it. Your esthetician layers it in at the ideal moment of your visit, after cleansing and exfoliation, so there is nothing extra to schedule.

Which add-on should I choose?

Choose High-Frequency for breakout-prone skin, Pore Vacuum for congested pores and rough texture, and Galvanic Current when you want serums to absorb more deeply for hydration or brightness. Not sure? Your esthetician will confirm the best enhancement for your skin at your consultation.

How much do add-ons cost, and can I save?

High-Frequency is $25 and the other two are $35 each, added on top of your facial price. Members save 5% to 20% on every add-on, and a Glow membership's 350 welcome points are enough for a free one. See the memberships for details.

Is there downtime after an add-on?

No. All three add-ons are non-invasive with no downtime, and your esthetician shares simple aftercare such as daily broad-spectrum sunscreen. Please tell us about any medications, allergies, pregnancy, pacemaker or metal implants before your facial, as suitability for certain add-ons can vary.

Can I add more than one add-on to a facial?

Often, yes. It depends on your skin and the length of your appointment. Your licensed esthetician will recommend the best combination so your skin stays comfortable, and may suggest a single add-on if your skin is reactive that day.
