What happens during the treatment
- Consultation & skin analysis — we read your skin under a magnifying lamp and by touch to check oil, dehydration, congestion and pigment.
- Double cleanse — makeup, sunscreen and surface oil are thoroughly removed.
- Exfoliation — dead surface cells are lifted to reveal fresh skin and boost glow.
- Extractions as needed — gentle clearing of any congestion we find.
- Treatment mask & finish — a mask suited to your skin, then hydration and SPF.

The Wood’s lamp: a 1903 physics invention that reads your skin
In 1903, the American physicist Robert Williams Wood invented a special glass filter that blocks visible light and passes ultraviolet — still called a “Wood’s lamp” today. Dermatologists quickly discovered that under its glow, things invisible to the naked eye come to light: areas of oil, dehydration, thickened skin and pigment each fluoresce differently. Today it is mainly a dermatology tool. In a facial at Lumina, your esthetician relies on magnification, touch and a real consultation to tell oily skin from simply dehydrated skin (they can look identical) — and chooses the right products and depth accordingly.
